Audit trail

The audit trail

Every change to a figure is recorded with who made it and when. Not because anyone is under suspicion, but because a valuation nobody can account for is a valuation nobody can defend.

What is recorded

Changes to project data, certificates issued, documents printed, sign-ins, and changes to who has access.

  1. Open the Audit trail tab on a project.
  2. Entries show who, what and when.
  3. It cannot be edited, by anyone, including an admin.
Worth knowingThat last point is the whole value of it. A record that can be altered by the person it records is not a record.

Who can see it

Admins on your account. Guests never see it, and it is not part of anything shared with a client.

How long it is kept

Long enough to matter. Limitation on a simple contract runs six years and on a deed twelve, and an audit trail deleted after twelve months is of no use in the dispute it was kept for.

Sign-in records are kept for a shorter period than project changes. They serve a security purpose rather than a contractual one, so keeping them for a decade would collect personal data with no reason behind it.

Getting it out

The trail prints as a document, and your project data exports in full at any time. Nothing you enter is held hostage by the subscription.

Still stuck?

Write to support@qscope.co.uk. Include the project reference and, if it is about a figure, the certificate number. Answers within one working day.

Try it on your next valuation

Not your whole portfolio. One live job, one certificate. If it does not save you time the first time you use it, walk away and take your data with you.
